A Summary
Pictures

Hi VVans,

Thanks for your overwhelming response to SANGAMA-08, the reunion festival of the alumni of Vidya Vardhaka Sangha High School. It was a pleasure to see the senior management, the teaching and the non-teaching staff and more than 350 alumni of VVSHS coming together on a single platform. Indeed , it was our pleasure to have stalwarts like Sri P R Mundewadi (Honorable chairman, VVS) ,Sri K.N. Srihari (Hon. Secretary, VVS),Sri P.G.Dwarakanath (Hon. Joint Secretary, VVS), Smt. B.S.Vijaya (Hon. Headmistress,VVSHS) present among us.

We are sure that every person who was witness to this event on the 27th of July , had a great time and the event would be etched in their memories for a very long time. It was a day to express our gratitude to the teaching and the non teaching staff of the institution who have a played a vital role in molding our lives, to relive the golden moments spent in our school campus and not to forget, to reunite with our friends. We could not have asked for a better time to launch VVans , the alumni association of VVSHS.
Here’s a Brief Summary……….

The event started off with a soothing invocation song by “Akshatha” of 2005 batch.

Following this, we had the opportunity to felicitate the guests of honor for the day and it was a pleasure to hear them share their experiences with respect to our glorious institution.

What followed this was probably the highlight of the occasion, where in all the teaching and the non teaching staff of VVSHS who have served the institution over the past few decades were felicitated and this was a near perfect time to express our gratitude towards them.

Though there was intermittent rain, everyone present their showed great spirit and helped in making the event a grand success.

Lastly, we had a brief introduction with regards to the aims and objectives of VVANS, by Mr.Ganesh Ashwath of 2002 batch, the promoter of VVans.

Nostalgia was in the air as pass-outs of Vidya Vardhaka Sangha high School, right from the batch of 1970, upto 2008 were sharing a platform, along with the past & present teachers of the school. Nobody present there wanted the programme to ever end!!!

The teachers were overjoyed to see their products having scaled to such heights in their careers, coming back to their alma mater and express their gratitude. In fact, some of them said that it was shocking to see the student they used to see everyday in the benches of the classroom having gray hair!!

More importantly, the alumni in one voice pledged their commitment to ‘Giving Back’ to the school & the society in what ever form possible and their co-operation to their Alumni Association.

Also, We started the official membership registrations for the Alumni Association , and had an overwhelming response for the same. This is not the same as the online membership & the members registered with the association will be entitled to certain privileges like regular updates & also to become a more active member of the activities of the Association.

This membership is continuing and for any details, contact info@vvans.org

For those of you who could not make it to event due to various reasons,we promise you that this is just the beginning and we will have many more such events in the future.

Once again we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to each and everyone who contributed in various capacities to make SANGAMA -08 an event to remember and cherish.

Thanking You

Yours truly,

Madhan Kumar K.
